Jay Alexander (Parker) a Graduate of the Carolina School of Broadcasting in Charlotte where he spent 15 years in the Charlotte N.C area working in every format, from Country Urban, Rhythmic, Top 40 and 60’s Oldies and a longtime MUSIC enthusiast, Alexander got his start in broadcasting in 1981 at Asheville N.C station WBMU-FM, before moving to Lexington 26 years ago. He is Public Information Officer for LFUCG Community Corrections and afternoon Host for 107.9 the Beat. Jay has served as advisor and voice to a number of Community Organizations like the Police Athletic League (PAL), YMCA Black Achievers, the Historic Lyric Theatre, MLK Citywide Celebration, and Co Chair of the Minority Business Expo. Alexander joined LM Communications in 2000 as program director and during his tenure he expanded the WBTF audience and influence to become the leading radio station in the Ohio Valley. Alexander served as Asst Program Director for Cumulus Media. Not uncommon to interview artists such as Ludacris, Comedian Adele Givens, Bruce Bruce, Sinbad, Hal Sparks, The Wayans Brothers, John Legend, and many more.

Leonard Peterson III, is an alumnus of the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where he obtained his BFA in Acting.”Ceremonies of Dark Men” will be his debut with Message Theatre. He has recently been seen on Hardin County Playhouse’s stage production of “Almost Maine”. Other Credits include -“ Heather’s”: Kurt Kelly, “The Haunting of Hill House”: Luke Sanderson, “The Outsiders”: Soda-pop, “Next to Normal”: Dan, “Dreamgirls”: Jimmy U/S and “Our Country’s Good” : Black Caesar. As always, Leonard is honored and excited to be part of another amazing show with an even more amazing cast on his journey as an actor!

Matthew T. Burney (Jr.) was born and raised in NY, but relocated to Lexington, Kentucky in 2019. He is a trained actor holding two degrees: an Associates degree in performing arts, and a Bachelor’s degree in musical theater. He is known in the community as a poet. Most recently recently returning to the stage with acting, dancing. He is also a model with Uniqueness Unlimited Productions & Entertainment Unlimited Models and Images Modeling Agency.
Emmanuel "Manny" Thurman

Emannuel “Manny” Thurman received his BFA in Theatre from the University of Kentucky. He has since performed with numerous area theater companies. He has worked with Message Theater in "A Raisin In The Sun", "Piano Lessons", Twelve Angry Jurors and most recently in Frank X Walkers "I dedicate this ride: the making of Isaac Murphy as Isaac Murphy. He has been seen in Woodford Theater's Miracle on 34th Street (Fred Galey) and Rumors (Glen Cooper). Black Lives Matter: 1619 to Now (Ace). He has also performed in BCTC's Merry Wives of Windsor.

Message Theater welcomes back to the stage after several years the esteemed actor Duke Dunn in the role as Jenkins. Duke has been seen on stage in Two Trains Running, Deadwood Dick; the legend of the west and Ceremonies in Dark Old Men.

Shuntella Whitfield is excited to be acting for the first time. She is the mother of two children; daughter Kira, 24 years old, and son Devin, 22 years old. Shuntella is a group fitness instructor and owner of Fabulously Fit Fitness,LLC here in Lexington. She is the radio host of Thick&Fabulous on RADIOLEX WLXU 93.9FM and the Thick&Fabulous Podcast.
